We have loved this topic so much that we wanted to put together a blog to share what we have been up to this term!
This term, we have sewn together our own wonderful cuddly toys by using a variety of stitches and an array of felt to help our design look realistic and adorable!
It was a tough challenge, which we overcame with resilience.. and a little bit of help from our teachers. In order to learn these tough stitches, we had to use a template of a raccoon and sew it to get better! We practised a lot of stitches: backstitch, running stitch, chain stitch and french knot to name a few.
When we started to sew our toys, we were all excited! We started to decorate the front of the toy and decorated it with ornate and alluring designs. Everyone could sew a lot better than before and it was going well. Some people as they were sewing faced challenges but overcome them with hard work and determination to succeed.
As we faced the end of the long journey, we had to do one more thing! THE BLANKET STITCH!!! It was difficult but we got there in the end. Sighing with relief that we were nearly there and filled with excitement to see the finished project, we put stuffing inside our cute cuddly toys! We are very proud of our beautiful animals - our masterpieces!
