On Tuesday 26th June, we had a Wider Online Safety Meeting - with the some of the school governors and parents, some Anti-bullying Ambassadors and important people in school (Mr Stewart and Mrs Cherry) - all about online safety. We talked about our online safety assembly where we read a book called "Once Upon a Time Online". Each adult sat on a different table to talk to the mini techies.

Furthermore we talked about the trip, which we made around school, and we asked teachers their opinions on how WhatsApp had raised the age to 16 - most people thought that it was a great idea. They wrote down their opinions on a piece of coloured paper.

In addition we looked at the amazing social media booklet which some of the mini techies made. They were made incase anyone is insure about anything on snapchat, instagram, WhatsApp, Twitter or Facebook.

After all of this, we worked with our adults to create an Online Safety Curriculum. We had to think carefully about the different objectives Miss Archbold gave us and about whether we thought it was better for Year 3 children, Year 4 children, Year 5 etc. We then had to decide if we thought it should be taught once or twice at Brimington Junior School. It was interesting as we had to justify all of our decisions as there was lots of different opinions!

Miss Archbold and Mr Stewart are going to look at the Curriculum map now and collect all our ideas together to create a master Online Safety Curriculum for all the teachers to use.

We loved this meeting because we got to tell the teachers what they should teach next year!
