Once Upon a Time Online

During the Online Safety day assembly the Y6 Mini Techies read a story called ' Once upon a time online' by David Bedford and Rosie Reeve to the whole school.

It features classic fairy-tale characters such as: Cinderella, Jack and the Beanstalk ,the Three Little Pigs, the Big Bad Wolf, the Fariy Godmother, Little Red Riding Hood and Rapunzel. Because of this, the children loved it and were all very quiet and very still waiting to hear what happens next.

What is the book about ?

It is about a boy called jack who got a parcel and it was a laptop everyone wanted to buy things off the laptop. After some time everything went wrong and a very very long bill came for lots of money. Although the story was funny it had a clear moral: we need to communicate with adults at home about being online.

What should we do now?

We went away and found a family agreement which you can use to talk to your parents about being safe online. We also encourage all the parents reading to keep this communication up because it helps us learn.
