Our Special Visitors!

Yesterday the Mini Techie Team was visited by some very important people. As part of our drive with Online Safety, Miss Archbold invited governors, parents and staff from school to our Mini Techie meeting. We think that by planning our activities and policies with lots of people, everyone will learn more about online safety.

Initially the Y6 Mini Techies presented what we do on a day to day basis. Eg. Maintenance jobs and blogging. Then to begin with, the Mini Techies had a chat with the visitors. We talked about how to stay safe online and what we (and they) used the internet for. We got to know them. After that, we asked questions and shared our best advice and tips. Miss Archbold had created a blank ‘Pocket Policy for Online Safety’ to go to all the pupils at Brimington Junior School. We decided with our visitors, what we thought needed to go into the policy- there were lots of suggestions and at the end we put together what needed to go into the policy.
I really enjoyed the meeting and it was nice to talk about our questions and stuff. We also showed them how to use our QR codes and gave them a quick tour of our blog!

Look out for our finished ‘Pocket Policy for Online Safety’ coming to a pencil case near you soon!
