For Christmas, I received an XBOX 1S and I was incredibly excited to play on it. Whilst playing a new game with my brand new headset, I joined an online party so I could compete against other people- my new ‘online friends’. One of the people on the headset kept telling me to leave the game- which deeply upset me – however it was only the beginning. When I respawned, everyone in the party tried to kill me so that I would leave. Everyone ganged up on me and all were repeatedly asking me to leave. I couldn’t take it anymore.

To solve the problem, I left the party and I played with my real life friends instead. I already felt much better. Fred, who is my brother, told me to ignore them because they are simply jealous. I’m glad I spoke to him because it really made me forget about it. Eventually, I spoke to Miss Archbold – who runs the Online Safety Warriors- and she made me realise it was a form of cyber bullying. Afterwards, I felt more positive. I also realised that although I thought these people were my 'online friends', they weren't. They are strangers.
In the future, I won’t play with people I don’t know again; I want people to know that it was cyberbullying and they shouldn’t risk exposing themselves to strangers who might not be nice. It really affected me and I really hope no one has to go through what I experienced.
